Where planning stands
This draft draws on the August 17, 2026 trustee discussion document. That document describes initial concepts, not a final bond package. An adopted election order, final scope and verified financial estimates have not yet been incorporated.
FACILITY NEEDS & PROJECT CONCEPTS
What needs attention.
What is being considered.
Each concept connects an existing facility concern or planning need to a potential improvement. The numbering follows the trustee document; it does not represent a priority ranking.
01 Main campus security, restrooms & dining
Need / Planning Consideration
Planning calls for a more secure arrival sequence, accessible restrooms and a reorganized dining area.
Proposed Response
Create a secure main entry with two-point screening and a welcome center; add a student commons near the open stairway; relocate the cafeteria and kitchen to the patio/teachers’ lounge area; renovate main hallway and office restrooms with accessibility improvements.
02 Elementary classrooms & learning commons
Need / Planning Consideration
The concepts consider reorganizing elementary classrooms and providing shared learning and support spaces.

Relocate elementary classrooms into the current cafeteria/kitchen area. Create a collaboration, reading and learning commons with offices, a workroom, renovated student restrooms and a new staff restroom. Include required accessibility improvements.
03 Career education, EPEC & auditorium
Need / Planning Consideration
The concepts consider consolidating career and technical education spaces and reorganizing EPEC spaces.
Proposed Response
Renovate the EPEC/CTE hallway for welding, construction trades, mechanics, culinary and medical classrooms and labs. Relocate EPEC offices, classrooms, ARD room and workroom to the elementary hallway across from the auditorium. Update auditorium seating, window shading and stage access, with required accessibility work.
04 Plumbing, utilities & electrical systems
Need / Planning Consideration
The trustee document identifies known plumbing, sewer, water, gas and electrical deficiencies.
Proposed Response
Address deficiencies to improve reliability, safety and capacity, and support future renovations. Include associated accessibility improvements where work affects occupied or public spaces.
05 Science classrooms & laboratories
Need / Planning Consideration
Secondary science classrooms and labs are identified for utility, safety and instructional updates.
Proposed Response
Renovate plumbing, electrical capacity, gas service, ventilation and safety systems. Update cabinets, counters, sinks, storage, technology and instructional equipment, with required accessibility improvements.
06 Structural repairs & building preservation
Need / Planning Consideration
The document identifies cracking, sinking or uneven floors, foundation concerns and water intrusion.
Proposed Response
Address professional findings and complete repairs needed to preserve the long-term usability and integrity of district facilities, including associated accessibility improvements.
07 Weight room & concession facilities
Need / Planning Consideration
The weight room and concession area are identified for circulation, finish, equipment and operational improvements.
Proposed Response
Improve weight-room HVAC, ceiling fans, flooring and deteriorated wood. Update concession ventilation, appliances, work tables, sink space, plumbing, electrical and storage, with required accessibility improvements.
08 Elementary playground
Need / Planning Consideration
The concepts consider relocating elementary play space to the main campus within a secured perimeter.
Proposed Response
Provide fencing, controlled access, updated equipment, accessible play features, surfacing, drainage, shade, seating and supervision areas.
09 Transportation & district vehicles
Need / Planning Consideration
The document identifies transportation and program-support vehicle needs.
Proposed Response
Consider a school bus with a wheelchair lift, a 2500-series work vehicle for CTE/program support, a passenger van and a Suburban or comparable multi-passenger vehicle.
10 Additional priorities as funding allows
Need / Planning Consideration
Other identified needs depend on project costs and available funding.
Proposed Response
Consider track renovation or replacement, tennis court resurfacing, digital signage, technology infrastructure, necessary HVAC improvements and additional assessed needs. Inclusion in a final package is not established.
